Is your equipment pickup or delivery?
The trailers, and excavator/trailer combo are typically pickup from our Pinnaroo depot.
The excavator is usually delivered to site (free within 25km of Pinnaroo).

What towing capacity does my vehicle need/how much weight can I put on the trailer?
The 6x4 trailer is 750kg aggregate mass with a carrying capacity of 520kg.
The 10x6 hydraulic tipper trailer is 2,800kg aggregate mass with a carrying capacity of 1,700kg.
The 16.6 car carrier trailer is 3,200kg aggregate mass with a carrying capacity of 2,380kg.
The mini excavator on the 10x6 tipper trailer has an aggregate mass of 2,800kg.
You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is adequate for the loads you will be carrying.
How do I see if the equipment is available?
The availability for all the equipment can be seen when you book it online. Simply follow the steps. If you have any trouble with it contact us on 0458 852 162, or contact@heapsdinkum.com.au.
How old is your equipment?
All our equipment has been purchased new by us, and has documented service and repair history with authorised mechanics. As such, you can be confident that the equipment you hire is in excellent condition and fit for purpose.
Do I need to pay a bond?
Yes. Each item has a bond amount detailed in the listing. This is to be paid in cash on pickup/delivery, and will be returned once the hire is returned in good order. The bond amount is the cost of the insurance excess on that particular piece of equipment.
How do I book?
The easiest way to book is by using our online booking system. If you are having trouble using it, please call us on 0458 852 162 or contact@heapsdinkum.com.au.
How long does it take to pickup/return my hire?
Allow 15 minutes for pickup/return of equipment. This allows us time to sign all paperwork, explain all features, collect the bond, and answer any questions. If you are new to the equipment, allow an additional 15 minutes for an operation demonstration.
What happens if I damage something?
We understand that sometimes things go wrong and as such, all our equipment is fully insured. Do not attempt to repair the machinery yourself. Please let us know as soon as possible if any damage occurs.
If the damage sustained costs less than the bond amount, we will take the costs from the bond. If the damage cost is more than the bond amount, the entire bond will be forfeit. If the equipment is out of action for an extended period of time, you are responsible for paying the hire cost for those days the equipment is unavailable for hire. We may waive this cost at our discretion.
What do I need to do when I return the equipment?
Equipment needs to be fully refueled (if relevant), and cleaned before it is returned. A refueling/cleaning fee may apply if equipment is returned in an unsatisfactory condition.
I need the equipment for a few more hours/extra day, what do I do?
Contact us as soon as possible. If the equipment is free for the required time period, it'll be no worries to hire it again for an additional 24 hours. If the equipment is due to be hired again soon, it will have to be returned at the agreed upon time. We will try to be flexible and work out a solution where possible.
What attachments does the Mini Excavator have?
The excavator comes with 300mm & 450mm digging buckets, and a 900mm mud bucket. An auger drive with 100mm & 300mm augers is also available for an extra cost. If augers are needed, please select this option when booking the excavator.
Do I need a license to operate the Mini Excavator?
No, but if you don't have any experience operating one, please let us know beforehand and we will organise a demonstration with you before you take possession (allow approx half hour).
What are the available pickup times?
Equipment is available for pickup between 8.30am and 6.00pm 7 days a week. If equipment is required outside these hours, please contact us on 0458 852 162, or contact@heapsdinkum.com.au.
Do you have a minimum hire period?
Bookings are for 24hour periods, you return the equipment at the same time as you hired it. If you wish to return it earlier, please let us know so we can have someone at the depot to meet you.
Do you have a maximum hire period?
There is no maximum hire period, but the longest available on the website is 7 days. If you wish to hire for longer than this, please contact us and we will provide a quote.
I'm running late returning the equipment, what do I do?
Equipment needs to be returned on time to allow us to prepare the equipment for our next hire. If you are going to return it late, please contact us as soon as possible and we will try to work out a solution. Late returns may incur an additional 24hour hiring cost, but we will try to be flexible where possible.
Does the excavator come with fuel?
The excavator comes with a full tank of diesel, and needs to be returned with a full tank of diesel.
